Ford to launch iconic sports car Mustang in India
New Delhi, Jan 28 (IANS) Automobile manufacturer Ford on Thursday said it will launch its iconic sports car Mustang in India later this year.
According to the company, the iconic automobile is set to hit Indian showrooms later this year. The vehicle was unveiled ahead of the Delhi Auto Expo 2016.
"The new Mustang is a modern interpretation of the American icon, and we are thrilled to be giving our customers in India the opportunity to experience this piece of automotive history for the first time," said Nigel Harris, president, Ford India.
"The new Ford Mustang is a one-of-a-kind vehicle and is going to appeal to Indian drivers who value the style, performance, and heritage that the Mustang name brings," said Harris.
"With advanced new technology, an iconic design, and world-class power, it truly sets a new standard."
The iconic sports car retains its 'clean-sheet' design - including the long sculpted hood and short rear deck - with contemporary execution.
The automobile boost of an aviation-inspired cockpit and a large, high-definition screen that displays vehicle information in a spacious cabin.
Besides, the vehicle comes with an increased width for improved shoulder and hip room for rear-seat passengers, and a more spacious trunk.
Further, the new Mustang is equipped with new front and rear suspension systems.
It comes with the latest edition of the 5-liter V8 engine, equipped with an upgraded valve-train and cylinder heads that yield more than 420 horsepower.
In addition, the new sports car features a range of smart technologies providing drivers with enhanced information, control, and connectivity.
Ford has incorporated it's award-winning 'Sync' connectivity system that allows drivers to use voice commands, while driving.
Since, its launch in 1964, Ford has sold more than nine million Mustangs.
The classic automobile has made various appearances in popular culture like films, television shows, music and video games.
