An Ominous City In The Clouds Appeared In The Sky Over China And People Are Freaking Out

In China, people have believe to seen a city in the clouds that was momentarily observed (and captured on video) in the sky over Foshan in the Guangdong province, and then, a few days later, over the Jiangxi province when a similar sky city appeared.

Is this phenomena a Fata Morgana?

A Fata Morgana is a type of mirage that distort distance objects, and can be can be seen on land or sea.

It’s caused when the sun heats up the atmosphere above the land or oceans, which creates a gradient of temperatures.

The air close to the surface is relatively cool and above that, there are layers of warmer air.
When light hits a boundary between two layers that are different temperatures – and as a result different densities – it bends and travels at a different angle.

So, that’s a simple and scientifically plausible explanation that has been used before to explain the appearance of skyscrapers bursting into existence among the fluffy clouds, but maybe it’s a little too simple and scientifically plausible.
